Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center continues to follow the guidance of the CDC, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, and the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) to mitigate the risk of spreading COVID-19. COVID-19 Updates

November 25, 2020

We had eight residents and two employees test positive today.  The families of the affected residents have been notified, and the residents have been placed on transmission precautions.  The employees have been removed from the schedule and are self quarantining at home.  We continue to follow all CDC and Dept. of Health guidelines for proper PPE use, frequent hand washing, as well as daily screening of all employees entering the facility.

November 23,2020

We had two employees and one resident test positive today. The employees have been removed from the schedule and are quarantining at home, contact tracing has been initiated. The family of the resident has been notified, the resident has been placed on transmission precautions. Weekly testing of all employees and residents remains in place, in person visitation is on hold except for end of life.

November 20,2020

We had one employee test positive today, that person has been removed from the schedule and is quarantining at home. We had 5 residents test positive today, their families have been notified and they have been placed on transmission precautions.

We had three residents test positive for COVID-19 today, their family members have been notified and the residents have been placed on transmission precautions.

November 18, 2020

 We had two employees test positive today.  Both employees have been removed from the schedule and are quarantining at home.  We continue with weekly COVID testing for both employees and residents, daily screening of all employees upon entering facility, and we continue to follow guidance from the PA Dept. of Health and the CDC.  

November 16, 2020

We have had one employee test positive today. Affected employees have been removed from the schedule and are quarantining at home. Affected residents have been placed on transmission precautions and contact tracing has been implemented. We continue to follow CDC guidelines for mitigating the risk of this virus by maintaining strict infection control practices.

 November 15, 2020

We have an additional nine positive residents and three new employee test positive today. The families of the affected resident have been notified. The residents have been placed on transmission precautions and contact tracing has been implemented. Affected employees have been removed from the schedule and are quarantining at home. We will continue to follow CDC guidelines for mitigating the risk of this virus by maintaining strict infection control practices. We will continue to test our residents and employees until there are no positive cases.

Please be aware that we have had a new positive resident test result. The families of the affected resident has been notified.
The resident has been placed on transmission precautions and contact tracing has been implemented. November 9, 2020

We have additional residents and staff members with positive COVID test results today. The families of the affected residents have been notified. The staff members have been removed from the schedule and contact tracing has been initiated. Everyone in the facility is being tested. The residents who tested positive will be tested every two to three days. Testing will continue until there are no positive cases. Affected residents are being treated in a separate area of the facility. We continue to follow CDC guidance and all mitigation efforts remain in effect.

November 8, 2020

We have additional positive COVID test results in our facility today.  The families of the affected residents will be notified. The staff members have been removed from the schedule and contact tracing has been initiated.   Weekly testing for both employees and residents is currently in place.  All mitigation efforts remain in effect, daily screening of employees. proper PPE for employees and use of our quarantine unit.

November 6, 2020

We have six positive COVID test results in our facility today. Every family who has a resident affected will be notified individually. Testing for both employees and residents is currently in place and will continue weekly until the outbreak is resolved. All visits except virtual visits are now on hold until further notice. Any resident who has tested positive will be placed on transmission precautions.  

October 23, 2020

COVID testing cycle for all employees was completed 10/21/2020. All test results have returned negative.  

September 27,2020

Our last round of test results have come back negative for residents and staff.  We will continue to follow CDC and Department of Health guidance.  We will resume our monthly testing of staff.  We will continue with current screening processes upon entry to facility, also requiring universal masking and shielding when in building.

September 12, 2020

One additional staff member tested positive for COVID-19. Resident visitation has been temporarily suspended until further notice. This does not apply to End of Life and Compassionate Care Visits.

Through our most recent round of mass testing, we have received negative results for all residents and employees. Our staff continue to remain vigilant and follow CDC and Department of Health guidance to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our facility.

Through our mass testing as the results are being analyzed, we currently have two employees without symptoms who have tested positive for COVID-19. They have been removed from the schedule to quarantine at home and contact tracing has been initiated.  

We have two residents with a positive COVID test result.  Both residents have been placed on transmission precautions and their families have been notified. Our staff continue to remain vigilant and follow CDC and Department of Health guidance.

We have an additional employee with a positive COVID test result.  Employee was in full PPE when they last worked in the facility. The employee will remain at home to recover. Any person who was or is considered to have had close contact with this individual has been or will be contacted by the building. We continue to remain vigilant and follow CDC and Department of Health guidance. With the assist from the Medical Reserve Corps, we are conducting universal testing of our residents and employees.

As of June 23rd, our facility has resumed hospital admissions to our dedicated isolation area-Transitions Unit. To prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus, Claremont continues to abide by all CDC and DOH guidelines. Prior to admission, every new resident will have received two negative COVID-19 test results.  New residents will remain in their rooms for a 14 day observation period. They will be asked to wear masks when staff are providing direct care in their rooms; hygiene, medication administration, therapies and meals. Per CDC and DOH guidelines, we are still unable to accept visitors.

We have received an employee positive test result today. This employee had no direct resident contact. We continue to follow all CDC and DOH Guidelines.

One additional staff member tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total to two. Both are currently not working, and are in isolation. To date, no residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

April 9, 2020

One staff member tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member was at home when the symptoms developed. To date, no residents have tested positive for COVID-19. We are, and have been, actively monitoring our residents for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 since March 14, 2020 and are working with our local and state health departments.
